Full Suspension Mtbs

The kind of bike you choose to buy will depend on exactly what type of riding you are going to do and obviously also on your budget. Many bikers these days opt for full suspension mountain bikes rather than hard tail or rigid, mainly because of the flexibility and more comfortable ride you get with them. Before choosing this kind of bike, however, it's a good idea to have some idea of the pros and cons so that you can be sure it's the right one for you. As the name implies, full suspension bikes have suspension both front and rear. This helps you to control the bike more easily and obviously also gives a much more comfortable ride. If you are planning on riding over very rough terrain, with lots of bumps and rocks, these are significant factors.

You will find that you can tackle more difficult routes than you could with other types of bikes and do so without tiredness setting in so quickly. The safety factor should also not be overlooked - coming off a bike on rough ground can be harmful to your health! The disadvantages of full suspension frames should also be considered. For one thing, they are heavier than other kinds of bikes and the increased weight will have an impact on how far and how fast you can ride. There is also more maintenance involved, simply because there are more moving parts to look after. These kinds of bikes also tend to be more expensive than those with suspension only at the front, or no suspension at all.
