Hard Tail Mtbs
Hardtail mountain bikes are a popular choice with riders of all ages and fitness levels. As the name suggests, they come with a suspension fork at the front of the bike but none at the back. This has several advantages but also some disadvantages. It's worth taking a look at them to see if hardtail bikes are suitable for you. A lot will depend on the type of riding you want to do and your levels of fitness and expertise. One big advantage of these kinds of bikes is that they are lighter than those with full suspension. This obviously can be a critical factor when climbing hills or crossing very rough terrain, as the less weight you have to carry the quicker and easier it is.
Whether it's winning a race or just beating your friends up a hill, this can the most important thing for many people. Another issue to take into account is that there is less maintenance involved with hardtail bikes and fewer moving parts to worry about. This also means that they are generally cheaper than full suspension bikes. In terms of value for money, a hardtail with a good quality front fork is a much better choice than a full suspension bike with two lower quality forks. When it comes to mountain bikes hardtail types do have some disadvantages, however. The most important is that you will experience a lower level of comfort when riding over bumpy or rocky ground. This may not matter on shorter rides but will become a significant factor if you are attempting longer, more difficult rides.
