Hydration Systems

Staying hydrated is important for any cyclist, but the gruelling world of the triathlon makes this an essential issue to consider. That is why there are triathlon hydration system devices on the market which help keep your liquid levels up, even as the sweat is pouring from your brow. There are several different types of hydration system available. The first type comes in the form of a backpack-like item which you can slip into and within which you can store one, two or even three litres of liquid. These are easy to fill and simple to wear when you are training.

The second type of hydration system for triathlon is one which is integrated into the clothes you wear while cycling. This means that you do not need a separate backpack but can in fact drink from a reservoir which surrounds your body. The most affordable way to take liquid with you is to invest in triathlon hydration bottles which you can attach to your bike and reach for at regular intervals. A triathlon bottle will usually hold between 500ml and one litre of liquid and there are some advanced triathlon bottle options which have an aerodynamic design and a drinking system that lets you stay in a tucked position while you rehydrate yourself out on the open road. A host of attachments and cages are compatible with tri bike bottles and hydration systems, so it pays to do some research to find the one that is suitable for your needs.
