Frames with a steep seat tube angle are preferable to many riders, as the forward position that this angle encourages places the rider in a more aerodynamic position and vertically over the cranks, giving their leg muscles the most efficient position from which to work and letting them power round tough courses with ease.

With much of the time trial frame technology, there is a certain amount of trade off to be made between stiffness and lightness.
