Lycra overshoes will give warmth and protection against the wet as well as being the ideal choice for road racing as the fit will be snug and aerodynamic. This would be the best option for womens road bike overshoes and they are available in a choice of colours – black is the most common, but why not try a flash of bright colour on your feet and look good too.

When used for overshoes neoprene is a tougher option and therefore ideal for ladies mountain bike overshoes. Both lycra and neoprene overshoes can also have kevlar reinforcements on the heel and toe for increased durability. The risk of scuffing and damage caused from scraps with the road or rocks and gravel encountered on mountain bike trails on the high wear areas of the shoe will be minimised.

All overshoes generally have taped seams to maintain waterproofing and have enclosed zip openings with velcro adjustments to ensure the best fit possible. Reflective trim gives added visibility which is especially important for road cycling. Some have the added design feature of cut outs to suit all current pedal systems.
