Socks

Cycling is hard on the feet so a good pair of socks is essential for any serious cycling activity. Good cycling socks are anatomically engineered to support the foot during cycling, offering support where it is needed, namely on the arch of the foot, the heel and the toes. Womens cycle socks need to hold the ankle without making it feel restricted and to comfortably compress the arch area without restricting blood flow.

The fabric used in sports socks needs to allow the foot to breathe, to be fast wicking and fast drying. Whatever fibres are used it is essential that they manage moisture, transferring it to the outside so that it can evaporate away, preventing sweaty, clammy feet.

All ladies bike socks must be comfortable and fit well, there needs to be no slipping of the sock down the foot otherwise the risk of blisters will increase. They need to feel soft and both this softness and the good fit needs to be retained use after use, so that every time you put them on they feel great which means they must be made from fabrics which wash well too.

Womens MTB socks rely on the technology of both fabric manufacture and sock design for the best results on tough off-road tracks where impact on the feet is even greater than during road cycling. In the case of these buying socks which give maximum support to the arch of the foot and some protection up the ankle should be considered.
